Yes, the long awaited English release of Trigun! This was actually an impulse buy, mostly because Suncoast didn't have the DVD I went over to get. I didn't know Arkansas would actually be getting this, and when I saw it sitting on the shelf, all shiny and new, I had to get it! My first impression was 'Wow!' I'm really impressed with the art style of Yashuhiro Nightow. I'm not normally into action comics, but I really enjoyed reading my way through this one. An interesting thing I noticed was that almost all the sound effects were kept in the Japanese kanji (I think it's kanji, don't shoot me if I'm wrong, Adam!). Every other translated manga I have or have seen has all the sound effects translated into English. I think, really, keeping it in Japanese makes it easier to read. Well, for me anyways.
One thing I noticed was that while the manga and anime obviously vary, the stories that the anime included were pretty intact. Only a few things were taken out, and the stories themselves happen in a different order. I know that, later on, the anime really diverges from the manga, but at this point, it's interesting how much was actually left in the anime, at least for these stories. This is one I would defiantly recommend you give serious consideration to buying. If you're really into Trigun, it's worth it!
I've scanned a few images in so you can kinda see what I'm talking about. Sorry some of them look bad, but I'm not breaking the spine of this just to make nice images that people will steal anyways. If you want good ones, go buy the manga yourself. :P
